The no2covid-ONE

 

Our first innovation came as re-producible light part on the concept of the ICU team of the hospital of Geel, Belgium.

By inserting a rotary valve in the breathing line of every split-patient tube in a multi patient-one ventilator setup, the physician is able to regulate the final pressure in every patient and therefore can compensate for difference in compliance between the different patients.

The no2covid-ONE is a novel 3D-printable valve mechanism that mimics the workings of the rotary valve, as in, restricting the flow in the breathing tube.

It does so without coming into contact with the airflow and without the need to disconnect the tube.

 

The added value of this design is the low weight, creating less strain on the tubes.

We are testing and finalizing the design of the valve and will update and make available a final version for research purposes only.
